Request Sexual Health Testing

Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are among the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). They can be easily tested through the same urine sample or a self-collected swab—no physical examination is required.

If you think you may be at risk of chlamydia and/or gonorrhoea, fill out the short form to request a test kit from the practice. We’ll ask you a few questions to help you get started.

Sexual health testing is a normal and important part of looking after yourself. Requesting a chlamydia and gonorrhoea test through our online service is completely confidential, and your details and results will only be shared with you and any practice staff members directly involved in your care.

If you are experiencing any acute symptoms, such as pain or a fever, please contact the practice directly for a routine appointment.

Please note that STIs often take a few days or weeks after possible exposure to show up on tests. This is called the “window period”.

To be sure the results are correct for a chlamydia and gonorrhoea test, wait 2 weeks after possible exposure to test. If you are treated for either of these, the test can continue to appear “positive” for 6 weeks afterwards, even though the infection has cleared. Do not re-test within this 6 week period unless asked to do so by your service.

Testing is a normal part of looking after your health, and chlamydia and gonorrhoea are both treatable infections. You do not need to disclose that you have been tested.
